Our Six Year Old!!

Trenton just had his sixth birthday. He shares the day with a close friend of his, Tyler, so they had a combined party this year with church friends, and then one on friday with "school" friends. He thinks that he is so old now. And to top it all off he just lost his first tooth. It had been loose for a couple of days so I got on some gloves and asked if I could wiggle it. Well the years of being in peoples mouths hit me and I really just wanted to pull it. I convinced him that I could get it out that night and he was game. Really I enjoyed it and he giggled like crazy when I got it out. Then he wrote the tooth fairy a letter and told her that he loved her and thanks for the money. He gave it to me and said what he wrote and then said, "I did it so that she would feel good about herself, wasn't that nice of me?" Always thinking of others. After the boys went to bed that night it hit me that he is so not a baby anymore. No more dimples on his knuckles, always a sign that they are no longer babies, he does basically everything on his own, he is in school full time, and when he gives me hugs he can wrap his arms around my waist. I was sad for a minute. But I love that he is getting so big, he always makes me laugh when he is trying to be an adult, and when he talks about all of his big plans for his life.
