Miss Abby's Blessing

We made a quick trip to Utah at the beginning of the month to be with family and bless our little Abby. It was so great seeing all our friends there and to have so much family at the blessing. We had Travis, his oldest brother Scott, my youngest brother Joel, and our friends Josh Smith, Mike Cook, and Danny Harris stand in the circle. I was so overwhelmed with emotion (not like that should be a shock to anyone) and so grateful for the priesthood holders who helped bless our sweet angel. I don't think that I've felt the sweet spirit of Trav's little sister Gayle, whom we've named Abby after, quite as strong as the day that we were married. I can't wait until I have the chance to actually meet Miss Gayle on the other side. I don't know why I've felt such a strong connection to her, or why we felt so strongly to name Abby after her. Maybe we were friends in the life before. I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures. So this is all that we've got from that wonderful day. Thanks to all who shared in the special day with us.

I love how she is starring at her Daddy here.

Resting with Grandma Shepherd

This is our first "Great" Niece. Hard to believe that at 31 I'm already a "Great Aunt"! They are 15 days apart, weigh the same, but are about 2 1/2 inches different. Take a guess as to who is shorter! :) Oaklee is all legs and arms.
