Bless Everything...

Jacob is in the habit of praying the same prayer every night, so tonight Trav asked him if there was anything else he wanted to pray. He named a few things and Trav told him that he could say anything that he wanted when he prayed. So he began again..."Thank you for this day. Please bless my family. Please bless me. Please bless.....everything." And he did! It went on forever...bless the blankets, Trenton's Lego's, all the food, his puppy (which actually a bear), etc..
Then he said, "And Thank You for protecting me." I just wanted to cry. I wanted to say "AMEN!" For a few minutes there I was wondering if telling him to pray for whatever he wanted was a good idea, but then...
It's so cute to see him develop a relationship with his Father in Heaven. After we said all our prayers, he asked Daddy if he could say another prayer "for" Heavenly Father. We told him that he could say another in his bed. And he said, "Yeah. I can pray to him whenever I want. Even in my head. All the time if I wanted to."
That's right Jacob. You can. And HE will hear you.

Just last night he said, "bless all this JUNK and bless everything in the world." Hard not to laugh, and what Junk was he blessing?

That is wonderful. These times make any of the 'troubles' and work of being a parent all worth it.
