Rafeteria....and the $110 dinner

On the way to pre-school yesterday we passed by some horses. I pointed them out to Jacob and he asked what the white things on them were. I didn't see anything white so I asked him what he was talking about. "The white things on their bums." I didn't see anything white. So I asked him again what he was talking about. He said, "I think that they are called Rafeterias. Yeah, that is what they are." What?? "You know the things they put on your bum when you are sick." What is he talking about?? "I think that they are made out of paper. And the Dr. puts them on your bum when you are sick. They could be made out of cream too. Like when Xander had that rash from his diaper." So the horses have diaper rash?? "Horses don't wear diapers." Oh.
Still not sure what Rafeterias are so I asked him today and he said "I don't know. What is it?" Whatever.

Last night we joined some of our fellow Seniors at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We have always talked about going here because we heard that it was awesome, and so EXPENSIVE!! Thanks to our friends for not being afraid of the enormous prices, because we would have never just gone on our own. The food is ale carte (sp), but the sides are so big that they can be shared. We shared their chopped salad, so very yummy, and augratin(sp) potatoes. Travis got the NY Strip steak and I got the Garlic Herb crusted Halibut. My Halibut was SO BIG!! Seriously this thing was easily an inch and a half thick, and 7 inches long by 5 inches wide. It was the yummiest thing I have ever eaten. And its a good thing because it by itself was $40. I would have taken pictures, but our dinosaur camera was having problems. When we got the bill we just swallowed and paid. Travis kept talking about the $110 it cost on the way home, I told him he had to stop talking or I would get sick. But we earned this....RIGHT????

I am so glad you went! One of those things Joe and I will have to come back for. We always said that we would go, but could never swallow the thought of that check! You sooo deserved this and when you think you maybe didn't, just think of all those late nights and several days on end, without a husband! Congratulations Guys, I told you it would go fast.... 4 years ago

mmm... that place is really great. My dad would always take his entire company there for Christmas dinner/party... too bad that I am no longer an 'employee'. You guys definitely deserved that... and many more fancy meals.

So excited you are coming. I will email my info. I could come see you if that is easier or we can go see Cindy or something. I am not to far from her. Oh and you totally deserve the meal at Ruth's Chris. I love that place, yet we never go. They have really good fillet mingon and sides. You have to reward yourself sometime and graduation is a good time!!!

Sounds fun! I will look at that week, since Mary is coming into town also, but they have some church training thing they have to go to two of the days! I will let you know soon! If you want the inside scoop on the gates just let me know. I think that I have researched every single possible one out there and just ordered two different ones, so I will let you know how they work. We have a strang house for gates and banisters so it makes it more difficult.

Oh yeah, are you just so excited to be moving to a house?!?!? That is so fun, minus the actual moving with three kids part.

You definitely earned an expensive dinner. The worst part about Ruth Chris' for me is when they scrape the crumbs off the table after every course. I always feel like such a pig because I always have a million crumbs (or worse, a stain) while Nathan's side is completely clean. Maybe though it's just me :)
