December 2011- Janurary 2012

I'm making my way back to the blogging world.  Time to get back on track.
The end of December we went to Dallas. It had been a very long time since we had been there. Trav hadn't been back since our wedding 12 years before, and I had taken Xander with me to visit my family when Mana had a heart attack and was in Dallas for rehab in October 2008. It was time for a visit, and we felt like the kids were starting to think that Dallas was an imaginary place.

This is an old barn in McKinney across the street from one of
Trav's old mission apartments.

Our first time back to the place where our life together began.

Mr. Xander "riding the bull" in Downtown D.

Hanging with the Upshaw gang at our favorite restraunt "Razzoos".
YUM!

We took a tour of the new Cowboys Stadium.  The place is seriously impressive.

We met up with our KY buddies, The Dicksons.
Janelle had seriously JUST given birth so she and the baby hung out at the hotel
while Jon and their kids and us played tourist.

Love Dayna's cute face and Jacob's "angry" face.
Chest bump

We also got to meet up with our other KY buddies The Courtrights.
It was so fun to see them, and made me so jealous that they were living in Texas.
AHHHH, oh well.

It was so nice to visit.  We ate some yummy BBQ at Sunny Bryans and Spring Creek BBQ.  Ate at Razzoos, drove through my old neighborhood (which was weird and different), did A LOT of just driving around and remembering.  Visited some of Trav's old mission spots.  Travis and Jacob and Jon Dickson and his FIL went to the BYU game at SMU.  I got to hang with Miss Kim K. and Michele and Amanda and their kiddo's.  We visited with family, attended two wards to see most of the people from the old Garland 2nd ward since it was dissolved, and prayed that Trav would overcome his crazy sickness that hit him fast and hard the day before we were to leave.
It was still like "going home".  I guess it always will be.  The kids asked if we could go back again sometime, and we agreed that we would have to.

My cousin and his wife moved to McKinney about two years ago! What a small world. Your family looks great!
