We FINALLY have set up Internet, so as soon as I down load all the pictures from the last little while I'll post again.
We left Aurora on the 1st of July. Such a harder move to make than we thought. We made such great friends there, and miss them terribly. The kids had a great night of playing in the mosquito infested backyard for hours on end in the dark with friends that came to help us pack up. I thought that I had so much more packed than what I did. So very very sorry to those who helped out and stayed so long packing all the crazy things that I had stuffed in random places over the last year. OOPS!
We made it to Payson, Arizona (our new home) on the second, having only encountered one big problem when the passenger side tire on our car dolly blew the rubber off taking the entire wheel cover and brake light with it, and smashing into the front windshield of the van. Luckily no damage was done to my window, though the front of the van and side of Trav's car are still spotted black. It only took about 30 minutes for my heart rate to return to normal. We ended up having to stop at some little town in New Mexico and delaying our final destination for the night by 2 hours. After a half hour conversation with Priceline I got our money back on the hotel we had originally planned to stay in for the night, and actually saved us $10 by just walking into the hotel at the stop we were at and getting a room. By 11:30 that night we had a new car dolly and were on our way at 7:00 the next morning. We arrived in Payson by 12:30, the time change we throwing us for a loop) and walked into our Gray rock and BABY BLUE house to find that although it was nice and had new carpet, it smelled like smoke. NICE. Remember that we hadn't seen this house prior to moving here, minus the pictures sent by the realtor. But she must have missed the smoke smell, and we thought that maybe her camera had just MADE the house look Baby Blue. NOPE. I am happy to say that the smell is dimensioning with the daily spray down of Febreeze and burning of candles. OK, so we moved in, Trav and I moving all the heavy furniture since no one could come from the ward and help until the afternoon and we thought that we HAD to return the truck to Scottsdale (1 1/2 hr away) by 5pm. Got all unloaded, boys beds put together, blinds up in the rooms, dinner from Arbys and Del Taco, and bed time by shortly before midnight. Then up early the next morning and on the road to Scottsdale and then to Orem, UT to visit with family for a week. I think that I am still recovering. Trenton and Jacob did fabulous, but Trav decided that Xander and I will fly next time. I think that we was ready to through the two of us out to hitch hike home. I don't handle screaming 2 year olds in a van for 10 hours very well.
So we're here. Surviving. Missing everyone so much. Trenton starts school next week, still trying to decide whether or not we can afford to put Jacob in the very expensive private school they have here. Found an OB, and will know what this kiddo is in a couple of weeks. Trav is enjoying being a REAL DENTIST, and not having people over his shoulder or checking his work after he finishes. This will be good. We can make this little town work. We felt so good about moving here, and felt strongly that this is where the Lord wanted us to be. I just have to convince myself that I'm gonna survive, and will make friends again.

Good luck to you guys! We still miss you in KY. Sounds like you had your share of adventures. Hang in there.
Wow, what an adventure! We were lucky to have christian's dad, once again, come down and help us move. he drove the moving truck while we drove the car! and all we had was delia and it was only 6.5 hrs! You're quite a woman! good luck with every thing! It seems that no good luck comes with out experiencing a little back luck first! that has proven true for us since we moved to Farmington! It is so, so hard to pick up and move again! I miss all my friends in KY, and denver! I am trying to make friends here, but it is harder than ever! You will make friends in no time because you are super woman and totally awesome!
What a doozy of a transfer! Good Luck in settling down there. No doubt, you will make friends in no time. I'm sure you will be a welcome addition to the area and ward. I can't wait to hear what the new baby is! I'm holding out for a girl! Don't let me down!
You'll make tons of friends. Let's face it- who couldn't love the Shepherd's?! We are just starting to make some friends here. It was really hard for me the first month, but now I'm finally getting to know some people. Can't wait to find out what you are having. Mike just mentioned to me again about moving to Payson. You just may have us as forever neighbors. You better tell me now if you secretly hate us or you may have us for life. :)
I am so happy you guys arrived safely. I have always hated moving long distances. It always seems like something goes wrong. Can't wait to hear what the baby is!!! Miss you like crazy as always. I am really grateful that you guys have found a place to feel good about. Love ya!! Kim
wow! think i missed the whole 'new baby' thing! congrats! at least you are staying busy so the time is passing by so fast! your move sounds so exciting! at least you are there!!!
Crazy trip! Hopefully, things will only get better from here, right?! Congrats on the new little one to be - I will keep good girl thoughts for you.
So happy that you made it safely. One of my worst fears is breaking down on the freeway. Glad to hear that it wasn't that bad. About the private school - I know that they have tons of scholarships for them. i don't know where to find them exactly I just know a bunch of people around here get them for their kids some are through the state and some through the school itself and some are federal. It;s worth looking into. I know one lady that pays like 100 dollars a year for each of her kids. I hope you find the best school for your kids!!!You should also see if there are any charter schools around there. They are free you just have to apply.
You guys are so wonderful. You are going to make the best of friends there. We cannot wait to see if we are going to have another nephew or niece. Miss you tons!!!
Congrats shepherds!! Wow moving across country, new Job, new baby! Lot's of new things for you guys. It seems like it takes forever to feel settled, at least for me. I am so glad you have made it safe. We miss you guys. Can't wait to see what you are having. When are you due?
Oh wow, eventful trip! I hope life gives you a little break soon! I hope you love it in Payson. I am so excited for the new baby! Hang in there!
