Christmas Time is here again!!

We had a good Christmas here in Kentucky. We decided after our last trip to Utah for Christmas that it was just too crazy and maybe we would start staying here during the winter time. The last two years have gone good, and are much more relaxed. I think that we will keep this going forever. We took a quick trip up to Santa Claus, Indiana, expecting to see the really cool museum which we had heard about. Well it was in a tiny strip mall and closed. That strip mall was Down town. There is one grocery store, two restaurants, about six different shops and the post office. We kept seeing pictures and mini statues of this cool looking Santa statue dedicated to the Children of the World. After driving around we found it up on a hill just out of town, the grass was over grown, the gate was falling off and the road was no longer paved. Santa was in major need of a make over. His suit was pink not red and Jacob thought that his white bag full of toys was, in his words, "Santa has junk!" There was a cute candy cane factory with a very nice Santa, and that was the high light of the trip. If you have kids, you can send their letters there and they have volunteers who write back to the children.

The boys loved the tree and the lights and, Jacob's favorite, the presents! We always talk about Christ and his birth at this time of year, but after talking to Trenton about why we celebrate, "to give presents!" he said, we decided to spend more time reminding them what it is all about. I think that we made our point, after about the 10th time of asking Trenton why we celebrated he replied Very annoyed, "Because Jesus was born! Why do you keep asking me?!" Jacob turned into our little caroler, Trenton taught him some carols and they sang non-stop and to everyone that would listen. It was so cute. But really, I am tired of singing Frosty the Snowman.

By the way Santa was in disrepare and the museum being closed, I'm not sure you should be expecting the letter from Santa. Sounds like they need to do some fixing up and get santa and the museum back in shape. The picture of the boys in front of the tree is adorabile.
